SERVANT LEADER

about monica

Background

Experienced, Qualified

Mónica R. Alonzo has dedicated her life to serving others. At just 13 years old, tragedy struck when her father suddenly passed away. Mónica stepped up in a way that most teenagers never have to—helping her mother care for and support her ten siblings. This early experience shaped her values of hard work, resilience, and community, instilling in her a lifelong passion for service.

For the last 20 years, Mónica has been a leader, advocating for stronger neighborhoods, better city services, and new opportunities for families in Dallas. She previously served on the City Council and as Mayor Pro Tem, where she fought to improve public safety, support local businesses, and revitalize our community while ensuring that growth benefits the residents who have called this area home for generations. She knows that when City Hall listens to the people, real change happens.

Mónica is running for City Council because District 6 needs a leader who will listen, take action, and fight for the community. With a proven track record on City Council, she has already delivered real results for residents. She knows the challenges they face and has the experience to continue making a difference.

Mónica is ready to get back to work and ensure District 6 has a strong voice at City Hall.

Monica Alonzo

proven leader

In recent years, city hall has forgotten about District 6. Crime is rising, making families feel unsafe in their own neighborhoods. Streets and alleys are neglected, and illegal dumping has become an eyesore that drags down property values. Homes and businesses sit abandoned, left to rot instead of being revitalized for the good of the community. Basic city services—like timely trash collection, street repairs, and code enforcement—are delayed or ignored altogether, leaving residents frustrated and unheard.

Mónica is ready to get back to basics and fight for the people of Dallas. She will stand up for us and make city hall listen again. She will work to restore essential services, ensure our streets and alleys are clean and safe, and bring real solutions to reduce crime. She understands the importance of responsible growth and will advocate for new projects that align with the character and needs of our vibrant neighborhoods.

With Mónica, we will have a leader who not only understands our struggles but has lived them. She will fight every day to make sure Dallas receives the attention, resources, and respect it deserves.

It’s time to put our community first again.
